Previous roles include 10 years at a multi-billion dollar, national, privately held restaurant company, fulfilling various positions in the legal and financial services departments. Mike served the company in a dual business and legal role where he was responsible for the company’s risk management, insurance, welfare plans and retirement plans. As a corporate attorney, Mike was responsible for contracts, government relations and regulatory issues, with additional experience in litigation, franchising, data security and social media. He also negotiated real estate transactions across the United States and led the property management department.
In fact, Mike started his legal career as a real estate attorney with an Am Law 100 firm. He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2000 and has served on the board of the Georgia Restaurant Association and the Atlanta chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. He also volunteers as the vice chair of the board of directors for Crossroads Community Ministries.
A native of Albany, New York, Mike earned his BBA, MBA and JD at the College of William and Mary in Virginia, where he played Division I baseball and received numerous awards including Academic All-American and 3-time All-Conference.
Today Mike lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and two sons. In his free time, Mike makes fitness a priority. He enjoys hiking, playing tennis and basketball, and coaching Little League baseball as well as volunteering and traveling with his family.
